Last fall I was approached by Baton Rouge General to photograph some black and white portraits of local survivors for Heart Health month. As much as I love (and am known for) color photography, I really appreciate the simplicity and timelessness of black and white photography- especially portraiture.

My girl Toni and I are always exchanging ideas for new concepts to bring to life in front of the camera. She’s a bit of a period piece girl and loves decadent, ornate scenes and costuming, so she made this entire outfit and created fake pastries to style our friend’s claw foot bathtub with!
