5 PLACES TO TAKE PHOTOS IN BATON ROUGE
One of the first questions I get when I get a portrait inquiry is “where should we shoot?” Baton Rouge may not be a huge city, and just because there are a million photographers in town doesn’t mean that you have to reinvent the creative wheel with some crazy, out of this world location. To be completely blunt, it’s all been done before anyways. Here are 5 of my favorite places to shoot that consistently deliver great photos to clients!
ANYWHERE WITH TREES
This may sound obvious but for real… there are so many beautiful oak trees in Baton Rouge and it doesn’t take much to make a beautiful southern background. Some of my favorite oak tree spots are in the Garden District, City Park/City Park Lakes, most of the LSU campus, Arsenal Park downtown, or even some people’s yards!
MID-CITY
If you follow my work you probably see a lot of photos in front of colorful walls. Most of these walls are in Mid-City at places like Pop Shop Records, French Truck Coffee, and murals in the area. I love bringing headshot clients to Mid-City because you get a variety of photos in a relatively small radius.
YOUR HOUSE
You may not think your house is anything to write home about, but I promise you as a photographer it’s always a breath of fresh air to shoot in someone’s home. We see things differently than you do and I’m sure there’s some aspect of your home that we can work with.
PARKING GARAGES
This is probably cliche but YOLO. I get so many great photos in parking garages.
UNDER AN OVERPASS
Another overlooked spot that has a lot of potential for ~edgy~ photos!
