GREGORIAN | MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY
When Manship Theatre asked if I could shoot Gregorian when they came through town I was intrigued- looking them up on YouTube proved to be even more confusing as I couldn’t tell exactly what I was getting into.
But the photos I saw of them online included fire so I was like, what the heck this looks cool to shoot! Little did I know that I’d end up becoming a huge fan of Gregorian chants lol. Gregorian is a German band that’s been around for a while and performs Gregorian chant-inspired versions of modern pop and rock songs, like Running Up That Hill, Viva La Vida, and The Sound of Silence. This show at Manship Theatre was actually part of their first ever US tour!
The show was absolutely mesmerizing and the sound of modern songs sung in this medieval sort of way was haunting. I LOVED IT. Catch me in my Gregorian chant era now!!
Below are some of my favorite shots from the show, which was suuuuper hard to photograph by the way because they perform in almost complete darkness.
